Pre-qualification and Reporting

Pre-qualification Results Once an applicant has completed a PLUS or private loan pre-qualification request through Nellie Mae's Loan Link (online or telephone), the credit decision will be available to the financial aid officer for review.

Note: A borrower may pre-qualify regardless of a school's participation in LoanLink. To access these reports, financial aid officers must have access to the Pre-qualification Reports option. (Refer to Register for Services in LoanLink.)

Access Pre-qualification Reports Follow these steps to view, print, or download pre-qualification information:

  1. After logging in, click on the Pre-qualification Decision link.
  2. Enter Campus Code if you have access to data for multiple campuses
  3. Select View Report or Download. (Instructions for downloading are located at the bottom of the report selections page.)
  4. Select New or Archives and click submit.
    • By selecting New, all records that have not been processed will appear on the monitor.
    • If you are looking to view past records, select Archives and enter the date range to retrieve processed pre-qualification records.
    • Pre-qualification records are stored in Nellie Mae's database as new until financial aid officers log into Nellie Mae's web site and mark records as processed.
  5. After viewing new pre-qualification records, check the Mark all students as Viewed and Processed link on the report page to prevent repeat emails.

Email Notification Every evening, LoanLink generates a report of all new students' records. An e-mail notification is then sent to the designated financial aid officer of the school. The message refers the financial aid officer to Nellie Mae's website to retrieve student information. Nellie Mae does not send personal student information via email messages. Financial aid officers must log in to our secure website to view or download this information.
