BACK TO SCHOOL GOT YOU BROKE?!

Hey, what's up? FinMan here to give you some important Financial Management tips for makin' it through the school year. I'll be surfin' your way over the next few months, so be sure to check this page out! Hey, I know you're busy, what with classes, homework and hangin' out...and hangin' out...and more hangin' out, but you've got nothing to lose! Stick with me and learn some cool money moves!

I bet lots of you complain about how little money you have and how quickly you spend it, not to mention the cost of books, food and getting your dorm decked out. No joke, stuff adds up fast, especially at the beginning of the semester. And, hey, toothpaste and laundry detergent aren't free any more!! Time to get a grip. Starting right now, you can make a plan for managing your money. Budgeting doesn't have to be a pain, especially if you follow the easy-to-use calculator at www.nelliemae.com/calc. Believe me, this budgeting thing can save you cash and help prevent you from sinking into debt!

Even though it'll take some time, just chill for a few minutes and really think about where you spend your money. One big key to budgeting is tracking what you spend, including all your ATM transactions. So slow down and write it down! It'll make it easier to create your budget, and you won't be frustrated when the ATM spits back the words INSUFFICIENT FUNDS instead of the 20 bucks you asked for. Need more help with budgeting? Stop by your Financial Aid Office or check out www.savvystudent.com and other Internet sites by launching a search for budgeting. That's all for now.
