To be eligible for a Nellie Mae ParentPLUS Loan:
- You must have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- You must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or eligible noncitizen.
- You must be the parent of an undergraduate, dependent child. (Parents of independent students are not eligible.)
- Your child's school must participate in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP).
- Your other student loans must be in good standing.
- You must pass a credit check.
